So quick update...
After a bitterly cold but enlightening winter, a fairly mellow spring, and a hellish summer I have plunged back into school at EMU. My last semester is halfway through and the past eight weeks have flown by as I've student taught at Thomas Harrison Middle School. I've enjoyed my sixth graders (Language Arts) so much that I really don't want my last day to be Thursday. Although, at this point, after Rachel's wedding and all that being a bridesmaid entails, tutoring, attempting to have a social life, and trying to get through the Harry Potter books (finally) among too many other things, I am ready for a break. Which I will have; however, I'll spend it at a Faith and Sustainability conference in West Virginia. I just wish I was returning to my sixth graders after that break. I will be heading to John Wayland Elementary, instead, to teach in second grade. I'm pretty nervous about it, but sure I will love the kids.
Overall, things are okay. Being a student teacher is pretty tough work (it's the reflective seminar that really drains you), but it is worth it!
