I watched a friend's son today and had a blast! It's been a while since I've just hung out with a kid. Even a twenty minute walk back from his preschool, in the freezing cold was enlightening. Either he's really smart or I'm just underestimating all five year olds. This kid does have more cross-cultural and environmental sustainability awareness then most kids his age, but he's still a kid who wonders about his hands getting wet in his mittens from being too warm. (We had an cool, not gross, discussion on perspiring.) He thinks that only hospitals and fire departments should be allowed to use electricity, and he had fun learning some new words in Swahili while sharing some Spanish (from when he lived in Central America) with me. It was a good time.
I gave him my tiny camera and let him play with it. He took some cute shots, some photographic shots and of course some shots typical of a five year old. He had fun for a while, and then we created a collage on my computer. The pictures below are just a few of the ones he took.
Yeah...five year olds are awesome.
Title: Dinner table
...from a totally different persepective. What if all you could see was the plates? His comment? "Look, I've got two plates in the picture!"
Title: Cowboy boots
"It looks like my foot is on the ceiling!"
Title: Sparkly
Apparently my hair is more sparkly in pictures than it is in real life.
Title: Untitled 1
I have no idea what the focal point was for this picture, but for some reason I really like it.
Title: Starry Eyed
For some reason he loved this tablecloth, and he took six pictures of it from different distances.
i'm in the process of moving over to ------endelea.wordpress.com------. if you happen to actually read my blog here, consider switching to that one. for right now all posts will be the same...
